AB--10 to 28 cm; ashy sandy loam, brown (10YR 5/3) dry, dark brown (7.5YR 3/2) moist; weak very fine and fine subangular blocky structure; soft, very friable, slightly sticky and nonplastic; weakly smeary; common very fine and fine and many medium roots; many very fine irregular pores and common fine tubular pores; 10 percent gravel; slightly acid (pH 6.4); gradual smooth boundary
