Bk1--13 to 33 cm; brown (10YR 5/3) gravelly silt loam, very dark grayish brown (10YR 3/2) moist; weak medium and fine subangular blocky structure; soft, very friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; many medium, fine, and very fine roots; common very fine tubular pores; common calcium carbonate coatings on bottom of rock fragments; strongly effervescent (9 percent calcium carbonates); 15 percent gravel; slightly alkaline (pH 7.8); gradual wavy boundary
