COMPETING SERIES: There are no competing series.
GEOGRAPHIC SETTING: The Itzee soils are on terraces. Slope is 0 to 12 percent. Elevation is 920 to 2,780 feet. The soils formed in mixed alluvium. The average annual precipitation ranges from 27 to 30 inches. The average annual air temperature is 45 to 52 degrees F. The frost-free period ranges from 90 to 180 days (9 in 10 years to 1 in 10 years, respectively).
GEOGRAPHICALLY ASSOCIATED SOILS: This is the Crumarine series. Crumarine soils are found on flood plains and are somewhat poorly drained (water table at 12 to 20 inches some part of the growing season).
DRAINAGE AND PERMEABILITY: Somewhat excessively drained; very slow runoff; rapid permeability; depth to an apparent water table is greater than 60 inches.
USE AND VEGETATION: Used for hayland, pasture land, cropland and homesites. Native vegetation is Ponderosa Pine, Idaho fescue and other grasses, forbs and shrubs.
DISTRIBUTION AND EXTENT: Clearwater County, Idaho. The series is of small extent.
MLRA SOIL SURVEY REGIONAL OFFICE (MO) RESPONSIBLE: Bozeman, Montana
SERIES ESTABLISHED: Clearwater County, Idaho, 2003.
REMARKS: Diagnostic horizons and other features recognized in this pedon:
Mollic epipedon - the zone from the surface to 47 inches (A, Bw, C1, and C2 horizons)
Particle-size control section - the zone from 10 to 40 inches ( C1 and parts of the Bw and C2 horizons).
