TYPICAL PEDON: Klicko ashy silt loam in an area of rangeland, on a 6-percent, southwest-facing slope at an elevation of 1100 m (All textures are apparent field textures.)

A--0 to 18 cm; ashy silt loam, brown (7.5YR 5/4) dry, dark brown (7.5YR 3/2) moist; weak fine granular structure; very soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; many very fine roots; many fine irregular pores; 10 percent gravel; slightly acid (pH 6.2); clear smooth boundary

AB--18 to 43 cm; silt loam, brown (7.5YR 5/4) dry, dark brown (7.5YR 3/2) moist; weak fine subangular blocky structure; soft, very friable, nonsticky and slightly plastic; many very fine and common fine and medium roots; common fine irregular pores and common fine and medium tubular pores; 10 percent gravel; slightly acid (pH 6.4); clear wavy boundary

Bw1--43 to 79 cm; silt loam, brown (7.5YR 5/4) dry, dark brown (7.5YR 3/4) moist; weak fine and medium subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, firm, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; common very fine and few fine roots; common fine irregular pores and many fine and medium tubular pores; 10 percent gravel; slightly acid (pH 6.4); gradual wavy boundary

Bw2--79 to 99 cm; gravelly loam, light brown (7.5YR 6/4) dry, dark brown (7.5YR 3/4) moist; weak fine and medium subangular blocky structure; hard, firm, slightly sticky and slightly plastic, few fine roots; common fine tubular pores; 20 percent gravel; slightly acid (pH 6.2); abrupt wavy boundary

TYPE LOCATION: Klickitat County, Washington, about 640 m north and 520 m west of the southeast corner of section 23, T. 6 N., R. 19 E.; latitude 45 degrees, 59 minutes, 22 seconds north and longitude 120 degrees, 23 minutes, 31 seconds west
