A2--5 to 36 cm; brown (10YR 4/3) gravelly loam, dark brown (10YR 3/3) moist; weak coarse prismatic structure parting to weak fine prismatic; slightly hard, very friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; common very fine and few medium roots; many very fine tubular pores; 20 percent gravel; slightly alkaline (pH 7.6); clear wavy boundary

Bk1--36 to 53 cm; pale brown (10YR 6/3) gravelly loam, dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2) moist; moderate medium subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; common very fine and few fine roots; few very fine irregular pores; violently effervescent; few threadlike calcium carbonate masses throughout; 20 percent gravel; moderately alkaline (pH 8. 1); clear wavy boundary

Bk2--53 to 61 cm; pale brown (10YR 6/3) gravelly loam, dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2) moist; moderate medium subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; few very fine roots; few very fine irregular pores; violently effervescent; many threadlike calcium carbonate masses throughout and calcium carbonate coatings on rock fragments; 25 percent gravel and 5 percent cobbles; moderately alkaline (pH 8.3); clear wavy boundary

Bk3--61 to 66 cm; very pale brown (10YR 8/2) very cobbly loam, very pale brown (10YR 7/3) moist; moderate medium subangular blocky structure; soft, friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; few very fine roots; few very fine irregular pores; violently effervescent; many threadlike calcium carbonate masses throughout and calcium carbonate coatings on rock fragments; 15 percent gravel, 20 percent cobbles, and 10 percent stones; moderately alkaline (pH 8.3); abrupt irregular boundary
