A--0 to 13 cm; pale brown (10YR 6/3) very gravelly loam, dark brown (10YR 3/3) moist; weak very fine and fine subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, very friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; common very fine and few fine roots; many very fine tubular and irregular pores; 35 percent gravel; calcium carbonate and silica coatings on bottom of rock fragments; strongly effervescent (50 percent calcium carbonate equivalent); slightly alkaline (pH 7.8); clear wavy boundary

Bk--13 to 28 cm; yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) very gravelly loam, brown (10YR 4/3) moist; weak very fine and fine subangular blocky structure; soft, loose, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; common very fine and fine roots; common very fine irregular pores and few very fine tubular pores; 55 percent gravel; calcium carbonate and silica coatings on bottom of rock fragments; violently effervescent (60 percent calcium carbonate equivalent); moderately alkaline (pH 8.0); abrupt wavy boundary

2Bkqm--28 to 41 cm; light brownish gray (10YR 6/2) indurated duripan that has a laminar cap less than 2 mm thick, dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2) moist; massive; 70 percent gravel and 5 percent cobbles; violently effervescent; moderately alkaline (pH 8.2); clear wavy boundary

2Bkq--41 to 150 cm; light gray (10YR 7/2) extremely gravelly loamy sand, pale brown (10YR 6/3) moist; single grain; loose; many very fine and fine irregular pores; 65 percent gravel and 15 percent cobbles; calcium carbonate and silica coatings on bottom of rock fragments; violently effervescent (50 percent calcium carbonate equivalent); moderately alkaline (pH 8.4)
