A2--8 to 28 cm; silt loam, grayish brown (10YR 5/2) dry, dark brown (10YR 3/3) moist; weak medium subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; many very fine roots; many very fine tubular pores; neutral (pH 6.8); gradual wavy boundary

Bw1--28 to 41 cm; silt loam, brown (10YR 5/3) dry, dark brown (10YR 3/3) moist; moderate medium subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; many very fine roots; many very fine tubular pores; slightly alkaline (pH 7.4); gradual wavy boundary
