TYPICAL PEDON: Rudio mucky ashy sandy loam - wet meadow, on 3 percent slope at an elevation of 1600 meters. (Colors are for dry soil unless otherwise noted.)

Ag--0 to 5 cm; very dark grayish brown (10YR 3/2) mucky ashy sandy loam, black (10YR 2/1) moist; strong fine granular structure; very friable, slightly hard, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; many very fine, many fine and common roots throughout; many very fine and fine irregular pores; neutral (pH 6.8); clear wavy boundary. (2 to 8 cm thick)

2ABtg-- 5 to 13 centimeters; very dark gray (10YR 3/1) silty clay, black (10YR 2/1) moist; strong medium granular structure; very friable, hard, moderately sticky and moderately plastic; many very fine and fine roots throughout; many very fine and fine irregular pores; few distinct clay films on all faces of peds; neutral (pH 7.0); clear wavy boundary. (5 to 15 cm thick)

2Bt1-- 13 to 60 centimeters; dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2) clay, very dark grayish brown (10YR 3/2) moist; moderate medium prismatic structure; extremely firm, very hard, very sticky and very plastic; common very fine and many fine roots throughout; common very fine irregular pores; many prominent clay films on all faces of peds; 1 percent basalt gravel; neutral (pH 7.2); gradual wavy boundary.

2Bt2-- 60 to 78 centimeters; brown (10YR 5/3) cobbly clay loam, dark brown (10YR 3/3) moist; moderate medium prismatic structure; very firm, hard, moderately sticky and moderately plastic; many very fine and fine roots throughout; common fine irregular pores; few distinct clay films on all faces of peds; common fine iron-manganese masses; 5 percent basalt gravels, 10 percent basalt cobbles; neutral (pH 7.2); clear wavy boundary. (combined thickness of 2Bt1 and 2Bt2 is 50 to 76 cm)

2Cr-- 78 centimeters; weathered basalt.

TYPE LOCATION: Grant County, Oregon; 650 m east and 210 m north of the SE corner of section 19, Township 10S. Range 27E.; latitude 44.6836662, longitude -119.5184479, WGS84 Datum (coordinates determined with GPS)
