TYPICAL PEDON: Stovecreek peaty silt loam on an east southeast facing linear, linear floodplain on a slope of 6 percent at an elevation of 181 m (The soil was wet, non-satiated, from 0 to 29 cm and wet, satiated, from 23 to 150 cm when described on June 4, 2018.)

A1--0 to 2 cm; peaty silt loam, grayish brown (10YR 5/2) dry, very dark grayish brown (10YR 3/2) moist; moderate fine granular structure; very friable, nonsticky, nonplastic; many very fine and common fine roots; moderately acid (pH 6.0); abrupt smooth boundary

A2--2 to 15 cm; silt loam, grayish brown (10YR 5/2) dry, very dark grayish brown (10YR 3/2) moist; moderate fine granular structure; very friable, nonsticky, nonplastic; many very fine and common fine, medium and coarse roots; moderately acid (pH 5.9); clear smooth boundary

A3--15 to 45 cm; silt loam, grayish brown (2.5Y 5/2) dry, very dark grayish brown (2.5Y 3/2) moist; moderate fine granular structure; friable, nonsticky, slightly plastic; common very fine, fine, medium, and coarse roots; 10 percent medium faint dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4) masses of oxidized iron in matrix; slightly acid (pH 6.1); gradual smooth boundary
