TYPICAL PEDON: Ugaani extremely cobbly medial silt on a west northwest facing convex, convex microhigh on a talf, on a slope of 10 percent at an elevation of 388 m (The soil was moist throughout when described on June 27, 2016.)

Oa--0 to 4 cm; stony highly decomposed plant material, dark gray (10YR 4/1) dry, black (10YR 2/1) moist; nonsticky, nonplastic; many very fine and medium and common fine and coarse roots; 5 percent stones, 5 percent cobbles, 15 percent gravel; very strongly acid (pH 5.0); clear irregular boundary

A--4 to 10 cm; highly organic extremely cobbly medial silt, dark gray (7.5YR 4/1) dry, black (7.5YR 2.5/1) moist; weak fine granular structure; very friable, nonsticky, nonplastic; many very fine and common fine and medium roots; common fine and very fine irregular pores; 1 percent stones, 35 gravel percent, 40 percent cobbles; strongly acid (pH 5.1); clear irregular boundary

Bhs--10 to 16 cm; highly organic extremely cobbly medial silt, brown (7.5YR 4/2) dry, very dark brown (7.5YR 2.5/2) moist; weak medium granular structure; friable, nonsticky, nonplastic; many very fine and common fine and medium roots; common fine and very fine irregular pores; 1 percent stones, 35 percent gravel by volume, 40 percent cobbles; strongly acid (pH 5.2); very abrupt irregular boundary

2C--16 to 45 cm; cobbles, yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) dry, dark yellowish brown (10YR 3/4) moist; single grain; loose, nonsticky; 5 percent stones by volume, 40 percent gravel by volume, 50 percent cobbles by volume; strongly acid (pH 5.2); very abrupt irregular boundary
