Bk1--5 to 18 cm; silt loam, light brownish gray (2.5Y 6/2) dry, grayish brown (2.5Y 5/2) moist; moderate medium prismatic structure; hard, firm, moderately sticky and moderately plastic; common very fine, fine, medium, and coarse roots; many very fine tubular pores; 5 percent gravel; common fine segregated calcium carbonate filaments; strongly effervescent; moderately alkaline (pH 8.0); clear wavy boundary
