A--5 to 15 cm; ashy fine sandy loam, brown (7.5YR 4/2) dry, very dark gray (7.5YR 3/1) moist; weak fine granular structure; soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; weakly smeary; many very fine, fine, and medium and few coarse roots; common fine and medium irregular pores; 5 percent gravel; slightly acid (pH 6.1); NaF pH 10.0; clear wavy boundary

Bw--15 to 61 cm; ashy fine sandy loam, reddish brown (5YR 4/3) dry, dark reddish brown (5YR 3/2) moist; weak subangular blocky structure parting to weak fine granular; soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; weakly smeary; many very fine, fine, medium, and coarse roots; 5 percent gravel and 1 percent cobbles; slightly acid (pH 6.1); NaF pH 10.0; gradual wavy boundary
