Sandbank soils--formed on estuarine tidal stream deltas in sandy estuarine materials.
Sandfly soils--formed in estuarine tidal streams from coarse-loamy lagoonal deposits have buried dark-colored A horizons with a combined thickness of 20 centimeters or more that have 1.0 percent or more Holocene-age organic carbon.

USE AND VEGETATION:
Major uses--The area is used for recreational fishing, boating, and waterfowl hunting. Cash soils are of regional importance for waterfowl migration.
Typical vegetation--Subaquatic vegetation is typically present in shallow, less turbid areas where sunlight can penetrate the water column. Common vegetation is tape grass (Vallisneria americana), widgeon grass (Ruppia maritima), and sago pondweed (Stuckenia pectinata).

Typical Pedon Taxonomic Features:
Ochric epipedon--The zone from 0 to 18 centimeters.
Reduced matrix--The zone from 0 to 200 centimeters has a soil color matrix with a chroma of 2 or less.
Hyposulfidic materials--The zone from 0 to 200 centimeters has an initial pH that decreases by 1 or more units but remains at a value of 4.0 or more after 16 weeks of moist aerobic incubation.
Fluidity--The zone from 0 to 200 has a fluidity class of slightly fluid to very fluid.
Peraquic feature--Zero or positive soil water potential at the soil surface (permanently submerged).
