McKissack soils--Formed on brackish estuarine tidal streams from eroded spodic soil materials, commonly have hues of 7.5YR and chromas greater than 3, and organic stains between sand grains.
Mullet soils--Formed on washover-fan flats, commonly have hues of 5GY or greener, and oxidized pHs greater than 6.1.
Pelican Reef soils--Formed on relict flood-tidal deltas from sandy lagoonal deposits and do not have sandy loam lamellae.
Sandbank soils--Formed in nearby estuarine tidal stream deltas in estuarine deposits and have very fine mica flakes throughout
Thalinectes soils--Formed in sandy lagoonal and marine deposits on washover-fans and longshore bars and have higher soil organic carbon densities in the surface horizon.

Dregs soils--Are on dredge-deposit shoals and formed in sandy, human transported materials
Dry Bar soils--Are on shoals and reefs and formed in sandy-skeletal lagoonal deposits.
Lighthouse soils--Are on shoals and reefs and formed in loamy-skeletal lagoonal deposits.

USE AND VEGETATION:
Major uses--The area is used for recreational fishing and boating. Some areas support commercial shellfish production within embayments. Some areas support subaquatic vegetation where wave-energy dissipates before reaching the shoreline. Eastpoint soils can be intertidal depending on proximity to oceanic regress.
Typical vegetation--Vegetation presence is largely determined by wave energy. In areas where turbidity is low, tape grass (Vallisneria spiralis), shoal grass (Halodule wrightii) or widgeon grass (Ruppia maritima) may establish.
