Eastpoint soils--formed on submerged wave-cut platforms from sandy lagoonal materials.
Lighter soils--Formed in brackish estuarine tidal streams from fine-loamy estuarine deposits.
Lighthouse soils--Formed on shoals and oyster reefs from loamy lagoonal deposits and have a weighted average of 35 percent or more shell fragments in the particle size control section.
McKissack soils--Formed in brackish estuarine tidal stream from eroded, sandy spodic material.
Sandbank soils--Formed on estuarine tidal stream deltas and from sandy estuarine deposits and have mica present in some part of the profile.

USE AND VEGETATION:

Typical vegetation--Subaquatic vegetation is typically absent, but limited stands of shoal grass (Halodule wrightii) may establish where conditions are permissible.

Other: The series is named after the term dregs, a term used to describe the sediment which settles to the bottom of liquids after processing. Dregs soils were previously mapped as water in Florida soil surveys.
