TAXONOMIC CLASS: Sandy-skeletal, mixed Oxyaquic Cryofluvents

TYPICAL PEDON: Kadachan fine sand in a drainageway of a mountain slope of 15 percent at an elevation of 114 m (When described on August 28, 2013, the soil was moist from the surface to a depth of 65 cm and wet from a depth of 65 to 150 cm.)

C1--0 to 11 cm; fine sand, light gray (2.5Y 7/1) dry, gray (2.5Y 5/1) moist; single grain; soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; common very fine and medium and many fine roots throughout; common very fine and fine interstitial pores; noneffervescent; slightly acid (pH 6.2); clear irregular boundary

C2--11 to 18 cm; very stony fine sand, grayish brown (2.5Y 5/2) dry, very dark grayish brown (2.5Y 3/2) moist; single grain; soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; many very fine and fine and common medium and coarse roots throughout; common very fine and fine interstitial pores; 10 percent cobbles and 30 percent stones, by volume; noneffervescent; moderately acid (pH 5.6); clear irregular boundary

C3--18 to 150 cm; variegated boulders; single grain; loose, nonsticky and nonplastic; 3 percent gravel, 5 percent cobbles, 10 percent stones, and 70 percent boulders, by volume; noneffervescent; moderately acid (pH 5.7)
