BA--18 to 53 cm; gravelly loam, reddish brown (5YR 5/4) dry, dark reddish brown (2.5YR 3/4) moist; weak fine subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; many fine and few very fine roots; many very fine irregular pores; 15 percent gravel, 5 percent cobbles, and 20 percent basalt paragravel; neutral (pH 6.6); gradual smooth boundary

Bt1--53 to 81 cm; gravelly loam, yellowish red (5YR 5/6) dry, dark red (2.5YR 3/6) moist; weak fine subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; few fine and medium roots; many very fine irregular pores and common fine tubular pores; few faint clay films lining pores; 20 percent gravel and 10 percent basalt paragravel; slightly acid (pH 6.4); gradual smooth boundary

TYPE LOCATION: Klickitat County, Washington, about 24 km northwest of Goldendale; about 760 m north and 910 m west of the southeast corner of section 33, T. 6 N., R. 14 E.
