A2--15 to 48 cm; fine sandy loam, brown (7.5YR 5/2) dry, dark brown (7.5YR 3/2) moist; weak coarse subangular blocky structure parting to weak fine and medium subangular blocky; soft, very friable, nonsticky and slightly plastic; common very fine, fine, medium, and coarse roots; few fine and medium irregular pores; 5 percent gravel and 5 percent cobbles; moderately acid (pH 6.0); gradual wavy boundary
