TYPICAL PEDON: Rezanof medial silt loam - on a grass herbaceous and shrubby plains at elevation of 80 meters (275 feet). (All colors are for moist soil.)

Oe--0 to 8 centimeters (0 to 3 inches); very dark brown (7.5YR 2.5/2), brown (7.5YR 4/2), dry; moderately decomposed plant material; soft, very friable, nonsticky, nonplastic; many very fine, fine, and common medium and coarse roots throughout; strongly acid (pH 5.3); clear smooth boundary.

A1--8 to 18 centimeters (3 to 7 inches); very dark brown (7.5YR 2.5/2), brown (7.5YR 4/2), dry; medial silt loam; weak fine granular structure; soft, very friable, nonsticky, nonplastic; many fine, common medium, and common coarse roots throughout; moderately acid (pH 5.6); gradual smooth boundary.

A2--18 to 36 centimeters (7 to 14.2nches); very dark brown (7.5YR 2.5/2), brown (7.5YR 4/2), dry; medial silt loam; weak fine subangular blocky structure; soft, very friable, nonsticky, nonplastic; common (3.0) medium roots throughout and common (5.0) fine roots; fragments; moderately acid, pH 5.7; gradual wavy boundary.

Bw--36 to 94 centimeters (14 to 37 inches); medial silt loam; 50 percent sand; 6 percent clay; moderate medium subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, friable, nonsticky, nonplastic; many fine, common medium, and common coarse roots throughout; 5 percent gravel; moderately acid (pH 5.6); abrupt wavy boundary.

2C--94 to 200 centimeters (37 to 79 inches); dark grayish brown (2.5Y 4/2) very gravelly sandy loam; massive; slightly hard, friable, slightly sticky, nonplastic; 50 percent gravel and 5 percent cobble; very strongly acid (pH 5.0).
