Oi--0 to 3 cm; slightly decomposed plant material; moderately acid (pH 6.0); abrupt smooth boundary

A--3 to 7 cm; cobbly fine sandy loam, dark gray (10YR 4/1) dry, black (10YR 2/1) moist; moderate medium granular structure; soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; many very fine, fine, medium, and coarse and common very coarse roots throughout; 15 percent rounded gravel and 15 percent rounded cobbles; noneffervescent; neutral (pH 6.8); abrupt smooth boundary

C1--7 to 49 cm; very cobbly loamy coarse sand, very pale brown (10YR 7/4) dry, yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) moist; massive; soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; common very fine, fine, medium, and coarse roots throughout; 20 percent rounded gravel and 15 percent rounded cobbles; noneffervescent; moderately alkaline (pH 7.9); clear smooth boundary

C2--49 to 60 cm; very cobbly loamy coarse sand, very pale brown (10YR 7/4) dry, yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) moist; massive; soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; common very fine, fine, medium, and coarse roots throughout; 20 percent masses of reduced iron, medium gray (5Y 5/1) moist; 20 percent rounded gravel and 15 percent rounded cobbles; noneffervescent; moderately alkaline (pH 7.9); clear smooth boundary

Cg--60 to 150 cm; very gravelly loamy fine sand, light gray (5Y 7/1) dry, gray (5Y 5/1) moist; massive; soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; 40 percent rounded gravel and 15 percent rounded cobbles; very slightly effervescent; moderately alkaline (pH 7.9)
