TYPICAL PEDON: Tajittro silt loam on a forested terrace with a slope of 2 percent and an elevation of 128 m (The soil was moist throughout when described on July 11, 2014.)

Oi--0 to 6 cm; slightly decomposed plant material; common medium roots; slightly alkaline (pH 7.4); abrupt smooth boundary

Oe--6 to 11 cm; moderately decomposed plant material; common medium and coarse roots; moderately acid (pH 5.8); abrupt smooth boundary

A--11 to 18 cm; silt loam; brown (10YR 5/3) dry, dark brown (10YR 3/3) moist; weak fine granular structure; soft, very friable; common fine and medium roots; common fine and medium pores; noneffervescent; slightly alkaline (pH 7.6); clear wavy boundary

Bw--18 to 28 cm; silt loam; light brownish gray (2.5Y 6/2) dry, dark grayish brown (2.5Y 4/2) moist; weak medium subangular blocky structure; soft, very friable; common fine and medium roots; few fine and medium pores; 5 percent light olive brown (2.5Y 5/6) moist, mottles in matrix; strongly effervescent; moderately alkaline (pH 8.3); clear smooth boundary
