A--5 to 10 cm; cobbly ashy loam, brown (10YR 5/3) dry, very dark grayish brown (10YR 3/2) moist; weak very fine granular structure; slightly hard, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; many fine and medium roots; many fine irregular pores; 10 percent angular gravel and 10 percent angular cobbles; NaF pH 8.8; moderately acid (pH 6.0); abrupt smooth boundary
Bw1--10 to 30 cm; cobbly ashy loam, yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) dry, dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4) moist; weak medium and fine subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; many fine and medium roots; many fine tubular pores; 10 percent angular gravel and 20 percent angular cobbles; NaF pH 8.5; slightly acid (pH 6.2); abrupt smooth boundary
