TYPICAL PEDON: Bulky sandy loam, forested, on an outwash delta, on a slope of 1 percent at an elevation of 7 m (When described on June 21, 2014, the soil was wet throughout.)

Oe--0 to 5 cm; moderately decomposed plant material; extremely acid (pH 4.2); clear wavy boundary

Bg1--5 to 25 cm; sandy loam, dark gray (5Y 4/1) dry, dark bluish gray (5B 4/1) moist; moderate medium subangular blocky structure; soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; common very fine, fine, and, medium roots throughout; common very fine and fine interstitial pores; 20 percent masses of oxidized iron, strong brown (7.5YR 4/6) moist; strongly acid (pH 5.4); abrupt wavy boundary

Bg2--25 to 50 cm; silt loam, dark gray (5Y 4/1) dry, dark greenish gray (5G 4/1) moist; moderate medium subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; common fine roots; common very fine interstitial pores; moderately acid (pH 6.0); clear smooth boundary

Cg--50 to 150 cm; sand, dark gray (5Y 4/1) dry, dark gray (N 4/0) moist; massive; loose, nonsticky and nonplastic; very slightly effervescent (HCL, 1N); neutral (pH 6.9)
