Bg1--5 to 25 cm; sandy loam, dark gray (5Y 4/1) dry, dark bluish gray (5B 4/1) moist; moderate medium subangular blocky structure; soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; common very fine, fine, and, medium roots throughout; common very fine and fine interstitial pores; 20 percent masses of oxidized iron, strong brown (7.5YR 4/6) moist; strongly acid (pH 5.4); abrupt wavy boundary
